Certain medical applications require specific ground ends and tips to the coil or wire form requirements.  This is an application where we combined a variable pitched coil with the distal tip ground to a sharp point.  It specified a tight tolerance on a changing pitch that fit well into our capabilities.  We then developed a customized grinding process to supply the pointed tip.  This coil is made from 0.018" diameter 304V stainless steel wire and  coiled to an OD of 0.080"
